ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AT WATUHADANG VILLAGE, EAST SUMBA, NTT

                            Assistance Program of Watuhadang Village, East Sumba, NTT

"BANGUN DESA UNGGUL (BDU)" 

Watuhadang Tourism Village is one of the tourist villages in East Sumba NTT, with very unique potential, in the form of woven fabrics, Tombs, traditional houses, culinary, and so forth. Watuhadang Tourism Village received an mentoring program from Bina Sarana Informatika University Campus (UBSI), since 2023. Assistance in the form of increasing HR capacity through training and workshops on Coomunity-Based Tourism management. UBSI lecturer who serves as an expert in training, namely Dr. Ani Wijayanti, M.M., M.Mpar., CHE, as the letter of application is attached.

 

  

The HR capacity building program is carried out for 1 week, along with physical development programs in the form of food courts, drill wells, toilets, and UV Drying for weaving funded by PT SMI.  The mentoring program managed to get an award in the prestigious event at the international level, namely 48th ADFIAP Annual Meetings in Muscat, Oman, April 23-25, 2025.

 

The mentoring program continued in 2025, in the form of the preparation of the CBT masterplan through a research grant from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology which was successfully won by the Watuhadang village development experts, as well as UBSI Lecturers, namely Dr. Ani Wijayanti. Data collection for the preparation of masterplan has been running since June 2025.

 

UBSI cooperates with the East Sumba Regency Government which is outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a validity period of 2025 until 2030, with No. 026/601/UBSI/V/2025, signed by the Rector of UBSI, Mochammad Wahyudi with the Regent of East Sumba, Umbu Lili Pekuwali. MoU was handed down in a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Economics and Business of UBSI with the East Sumba Tourism and Culture Office No. 043/602/UBSI/V/V/2025, signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business: Ani Wijayanti with the Head of East Sumba Tourism and Culture Office, Ida Bagus Putu Punia.
